Chương trình Fulbright tại Việt Nam, Đại Sứ Quán Hoa Kỳ tại Hà Nội vừa thông báo về việc tuyển chọn ứng viên cho Chương trình Học bổng Sinh viên Việt Nam. Đây là học bổng toàn phần dành cho công dân Việt Nam theo học bậc học Thạc sỹ tại Hoa Kỳ bắt đầu từ năm học 2012-2013. Vietnamese Student Program AY 2012-2013

The U.S. Embassy in Vietnam is pleased to announce the 2012 Fulbright Vietnamese Student Scholarship Program. Established in 1946 and funded by the U.S. Congress, the Fulbright Program aims at achieving mutual understanding through academic and cultural exchange. The Fulbright Vietnamese Student Program is a competitive, merit-based scholarship program which recruits and nominates young Vietnamese professionals for Master’s degree programs at U.S. universities. Approximately 20 to 25 fully-funded scholarships are granted on an annual basis. Since 1992, about 500 Vietnamese students have participated in the Program.

WHAT does the Scholarship provide? The 2012 grantees will pursue a Master’s degree program that begins in the academic year 2012-2013. The Fulbright Program will arrange placement at universities in the United States. Successful applicants will receive a full scholarship which covers tuition and fees, monthly stipend, round-trip airfare to the U.S. and health insurance.

WHO can apply? Competition is open to all applicants who meet the following minimum criteria:

1.    Be a Vietnamese citizen (no dual citizenship)

2.    Currently residing in Vietnam

3.    Have at least one undergraduate degree

4.    Have at least one year of work experience after the date of undergraduate diploma by April 1, 2011

5.    Have a valid minimum TOEFL iBT of 79 or IELTS 6.5.

WHICH fields of study are supported?   
The Program supports study in most fields of social sciences and humanities, including:

American Literature Education Project/Program Management
American Studies Environmental Studies Psychology
Agricultural Economics Management of IT/Information system Public Administration
Anthropology Journalism Public Policy
Archaeology Language/Literature (non-U.S.) Public Health
Art/Film Studies Law Social Work
Business (all fields) Library Science Sociology
Communications Linguistics/Language Teaching Urban/Community Planning
Development Studies Philosophy Women/Gender Studies
Economics Political Science

HOW to apply?
A complete set of application guidelines is available for you to download. You are strongly encouraged to read through the guidelines before starting your application. Failure to comply with the guidelines may make your application “ineligible” for the further rounds of competition.

A complete application package must include:

1.    A  Fulbright application form
(Only paper application form, available in PDF interactive format, is accepted.)

2.    Three letters of reference
(All references must follow the Fulbright reference form, with all items to be completed.)

3.    Photocopies of valid TOEFL and/or IELTS score reports.

4.    Notarized photocopies of diplomas and transcripts (including notarized English translations).

WHEN and WHERE to submit the application?
The application and other supporting documents must arrive at the Fulbright Office no later than 5:00p.m., April 1, 2011. Emailed or faxed applications will not be considered.
