On October 22^nd, 2018, Nong Lam University – HCMC in collaboration with SEAMEO CELLL, SEAMEO SEN and SEAMEO BIOTROP organized an Opening Ceremony for “The in-country Training on Urban Agriculture for Special Education Teachers and Community Learning Centre Educators in Vietnam”. This in-country training course would feature existing agri-based technologies and expertise at Nong Lam University – Ho Chi Minh City.

In general, the training course is designed to enable special education teachers and community learning center educators acquire basic knowledge and skills on specific technologies appropriate for urban agriculture with the expectation that such technologies could be adopted in their respective schools for their students to also learn and practice for personal, family, and community development.

On the last day of the course, participants were expected to formulate their individual action plans on how to apply what they have learned from the training course in their respective schools and learning centers. The coursed attracted 30 Vietnamese participants including teachers and educators from special education centers in Ho Chi Minh City.  They were encouraged to maximize the time to interact with the resource persons and also share their personal experiences in any of the topics in the training.

After 4 days, hopefully this training would provide new knowledge and skills to all participants that would be useful to their teaching function in your thier schools and community learning centres.
